Weekend adventures

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

We have spent the last several weekends just exploring some of the local area.  Most of the places that we went to were within 2-5 hrs away from home.  We spent one day in Evora, Portugal- famous for the Bone Chapel, as well as spending time in Elvas, Portugal and Merida, Spain.  Crawling through castles is a great way to spend your Saturday…

This past weekend we drove up the Costa Del Sol and ended up in the little white town of Mijas.  We were drawn to the Carromato de Max , which is a museum of the world’s tiniest things, it even has a copy of the Last Supper painted on a grain of rice and some fully clothed fleas!  It was interesting to say the least.

I have finished posting the pictures of our trip to Konigstuhl- a 1864 ft peak in Heidelberg, Germany.  We road the Bergbahn (funicular- trolley) up the mountain.  There were beautiful views of the Neckar River below us and wonderful snowy winter wonderland around us at the top.

Keep checking back as I add more pictures of our families “Off the beaten path” adventures.
