New Year Blessings

It has been a while since I have posted any pictures of our travels or updated the blog site. We have recently returned from a couple months trip to the states for my husband to have back surgery. He had been plagued with back pain for many years and since our arrival to Spain last year it had gotten increasingly worse. He had a bicycle accident earlier in the year that just exacerbated his pain. He would sit and cry in the mornings for the past several months as I would put his socks on him because he was in so much pain- even with all the pain meds that he was taking- he didn’t have relief.
After several MRI’s and much discussion with the doctors, we were sent back to the states to run more tests. After yet another MRI, they discovered that he had a cyst growing on his spine that was pinching the nerve that ran down his right leg. AMEN! He had something wrong (it wasn’t all in his head) and it could be corrected! His surgery was a success and now he can walk and bend without pain (even putting his own socks on). His recovery will take several more months, but he is doing absolutely wonderful. For those of you that knew what was going on in our life- thank you for your prayers and encouragement as we went through this trying time. What an awesome God we serve- the great physician and healer.
Of course, now that he can walk around without pain, we have many travel plans and he is camera happy! We have so much to experience, see and do and plan to see all that we can while we are here.
I have already started posting more of our pictures, but as you can see they are several months behind. Hopefully I will be able to get caught up soon- barring any more unexpected life situations.
Happy New Year to all! J
